Police: 3-year-old shot in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach police say a toddler was accidentally shot late Tuesday night.

Police say it happened at 10:56 p.m. in an apartment complex in the 5500 block of Seawall Court. That’s around Virginia Beach Boulevard and Newtown Road.

They say a neighbor accidentally discharged a firearm, striking the child.

Officials say the child is recovering, and does not have serious injuries. No charges have been filed at this time.
