Swimming advisory issued for Sandbridge

A swimming and wading advisory has been issued for Sandbridge between Porter’s Island Road and Sea Scape Road in Virginia Beach.

The Virginia Beach Department of Public Health says recent testing revealed that bacteria levels in the water exceed State Water Quality Standards.

According to a press release, this does not affect the Virginia Beach resort area.

Signs will be posted in the area between Porter’s Island and Sea Scape Road.

Officials say they will continue to test the water.
