A woman has been charged after a shooting at a hotel party in Norfolk over the weekend.

Norfolk police are investigating what they say is a malicious wounding incident that occurred early Sunday morning at approximately 2:03 a.m., at the Ramada Inn located in the 500 block of North Military Highway.

Police say two males began fighting on the balcony of the hotel, near a party consisting of mostly juveniles. The fight continued to the ground level.

The shooting suspects saw the fight from the swimming pool area of the hotel, and fired multiple shots into the crowd, police say. An adult male victim sustained a gunshot wound. He was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in serious condition, where he underwent surgery.

According to officials, the adult male victim is expected to recover.

The suspects are described as two black males, both wearing red bandanas partially covering their faces, and armed with handguns.

The party was in a room at the hotel, rented by the mother of a 16-year-old, who was hosting the event. The mother is charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or the suspects described, is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
