Virginia Beach police identify woman shot and killed on 16th Street
Virginia Beach police have identified the woman who was shot and killed at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Tuesday morning.
The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Laurie Ann Escobar of the 700 block of 16th Street in Virginia Beach.
Virginia Beach police continue to investigate after they say Escobar was shot to death on 16th Street at the Oceanfront.
Police say the call came in at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday morning. An armed suspect entered a home in the 700 block of 16th Street.
According to police, the suspect approached a woman inside the home and shot her multiple times. The suspect then ran away in an unknown direction.
Police and medics responded to the scene, and found the victim in the back of the home. They say the victim was unresponsive and transported to a local hospital.
The victim, Laurie Ann Escobar, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Callers and texters remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest.
