More than 16,000 runners attend Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon at the Beach
The Virginia Beach Oceanfront was packed with people for the annual “Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon.”
More than 16,000 runners took part yesterday — coming from across the u-s and at least 11 other countries.
Bands and cheerleaders set up along the 13.1 mile race course helped push runners to the finish line.
For some, though, just being in the race was an accomplishment.
Beth Deloria suffers from paralysis in her foot and ankle – it’s a disorder known as “foot drop.”
She now wears a brace that allows her to run, and she’s on a mission to inspire others.
A concert on the beach wrapped up the event.
Grammy Award winning rock band Train was the headliner for the concert.
