Trial for 3 men accused of helping Chesapeake escapee to start today

The trial for three men accused of helping an inmate escape is set to get underway in Chesapeake.

Travis Christian, Thomas Evans, and Michael Darnell  are accused of helping fellow inmate Clancy Starling escape from the Chesapeake city jail by crawling under a barbed wire fence.

A fourth inmate- Keith Mcadoo was also accused in the crime.

Commonwealth attorneys were discussing a possible plea bargain with him in exchange for his testimony against the other three men.
