So it’s time to exchange those sleeveless tanks and dresses for sweaters and the longsleeves, right? Well here are a few of my favorite products to help your skin and hair make the transition from the humid summer air, to the cooler and dryer fall temps.
Moisturizing does not have to be a chore!
To keep skin and hair extra moisturized, lots of retailers are now using Moroccan Argan Oil in their moisturizers. A really great, less expensive one is Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Treatment by Organix. It’s about $7.99 at beauty supply stores, such as Ulta. This can keep your hair hydrated on those blustery days. You just take a small amount of it in your hand, comb it through hair from roots to tips, and leave on for 3-5 minutes. Then, you can rinse out, and style as usual. Fall frizz = done.
Dermatologists say the pH level of healthy skin is 5.5. Well, say hello to healthy moisture levels with one of my favorites – Solar Recover, by Zausner.

Fun Fact: Solar Recovery was created by a tennis pro who needed something to protect his skin from the elements while playing and working outdoors in extreme temps.
This product is great because it is made with all natural ingredients. It’s a spray for your skin, that is non-greasy and refreshing. Distilled water, essential oils of lavender, geranium, chamomile, and more, can be found in this elixir of perfection – and it is not
tested on animals. Solar Recover is actually meant for after-sun use, but is also great for refreshing skin that has been exposed to wind-burn and dry air as well. Can be used to refresh skin after a long day indoors, where air may be more stagnant (office buildings).
If you’re like me, you may be in a conondrum when it comes to moisturizing your face. You want to hydrate, but not cause a break-out from greasy products. Fear not, with Aveda’s Brightening Intensive Massage Masque. On the product label, it touts “luminosity and clarity”. I would say I am not disappointed with it. Massage a small amount over the face, leave on for 8 minutes, then rinse. You won’t need additional products after using it. Made with sunflower seed oil and rosemary, this organic mask will kick dryness and help save the environment. Aveda products are very Earth-friendly!
So what are your favorites to use during chilly temps? For even more ideas and tools, check out the video below – Beauty Expert Rebekah George shows off tons of cool ideas and products. She features a new tool that can be used anywhere, even at the office – that
actually stimulates collagen production in the skin. Sweet!
