Tropical Update: Sandy now a hurricane
Sandy will continue tracking generally north across Cuba and the Bahamas through Friday. This system will likely weaken back to a tropical storm Friday and begin to make a northeast turn.
The timing and degree of this turn will determine the impact on the East Coast.
Based on the current forecast (subject to change) Sandy is not expected to make landfall in the U.S. However, even with a track just off the coast we could still see rain, wind, and coastal flooding.
